Dr Laura Shoo
BHSc (Hon), PhD, GCertEd, B.Mid, Endorsed Midwife (RM/EM)
Laura has been a midwife for over 10 years. As an Endorsed Midwife, Laura joined Hatch in 2024. She spends her midwifery time working at Hatch Private Maternity and in the Birthing Suite and Pregnancy Assessment Centre at the Mater Mothers’ Hospital.
Prior to being a midwife, Laura was a cardiovascular physiologist having completed a PhD at Griffith University including collaborations with the University of Texas, Houston and held a post-doctoral position at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute in Melbourne. Following on from this she was a lecturer at James Cook University in Townsville. Lecturing physiology to medical students, nursing and midwifery students.
