Dr Hon Chuen (Alan) Cheng
Dr. Alan Cheng is an obstetrician and gynaecologist who believes in walking alongside women and their families, offering expert medical care within a supportive and understanding partnership. He is dedicated to provide a holistic and empowering experience, ensuring every woman feels heard, respected, and informed throughout her pregnancy journey and beyond.
Dr. Alan’s path to obstetrics is driven by a deep commitment to women's health and wellbeing. After graduating with First Class Honours from James Cook University, he has built a rich and diverse career across major hospitals in Queensland and New South Wales. He is currently a staff specialist at the Mater Mothers' Hospital, where he is proud to contribute to a team known for its exceptional care.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Alan is a passionate advocate for his field. He serves as a woman’s health research article reviewer. He is also a associate lecturer at the University of Queensland and a clinical adjunct at James Cook University, finding great joy in teaching and mentoring the next generation of doctors.
Dr. Alan’s approach is one of shared decision-making. He takes the time to understand the unique story, values, and concerns of each woman, empowering her with the knowledge and confidence to make the best choices for herself and her family. He views pregnancy not as a condition to be managed, but as a profound life experience to be nurtured.
